We have recently had  reports of possible 'rogue traders' in the Bakewell area carrying out over-priced gardening work.

You are not rude for saying NO

If someone comes to your door offering work you did not ask for, **you do not have to speak to them**.  
You can say:
No thank you and close the door.

🚩 Be extra careful if someone:

*   Turns up **without being asked**
*   Says repairs are **urgent or dangerous**
*   Pressures you to decide **straight away**
*   Asks for **cash**, or wants to take you to the bank
*   Refuses to leave when you say no

Some rogue traders **lie** and say they are:

*   “Trusted”
*   “Approved”
*   “On the council list”

👉 Do **not** trust logos on vans or paperwork alone.

🚪 If someone is at your door now

*   Keep the door **closed or on the chain**
*   Say **“No thank you”**
